Andrew began sailing after college in his hometown of Chicago, where he spent summers cruising the coastline in J/22s with friends. His appreciation for sportsmanship grew into offshore yacht-racing, crewing foredeck in the 40ft class. After a few years in the regatta circuit, Andrew moved to England to achieve his personal goal of becoming a Yachtmaster of the Royal Yachting Association. The pursuit has taken him the world over and he comes to Sailing Collective an adventurous and social spirit. Today, he's a New Yorker in the making, dining his way through Manhattan and sailing about the island.

Arrive in Road Town, Tortola via Beef Island Airport or by ferry from St. Thomas on the morning of the 13th to meet your captain and your fellow passengers at the marina location. Relax on the boat as everyone settles into island time, feel the sun and lounge under the palm trees while the paradise sets in. There will be plenty of time to get situated into your sailboat and make last-minute provisions and shopping before we depart.
After departing the marina base in Tortola, we sail directly to one of the hidden gems of the BVIs, White Bay on Guana Island for an afternoon swim and a Caribbean calibration. Next we head to Marina Cay. The flower covered, eight-acre island is ringed by a soft, white sand beach. The island is nestled in a sheltered, emerald green, lagoon whose shallow waters are always calm and lukewarm. It is the ideal place for snorkelers to enjoy the colorful fish and sea life that inhabit the coral reef and the lagoon. The quiet lagoon and reef make Marina Cay the ideal place for vacationing families with small children who desire a natural, safe, watersports environment. Likewise it is a wonderful place for those wishing to learn to snorkel and scuba dive. The island is also home to an award winning Pusser's Restaurant specializing in seafood and cuisine of the Caribbean.
Sailing due north to the BVIs flattest island, Anegada will appear out of the ocean about 4 miles from our end destination. Anegada is one of the BVIs largest and flattest islands with the highest point only 30 feet above sea level! This unique island is perfectly lazy and beautiful, recently voted one of the top beaches in the entire Caribbean by The New York Times, there will be plenty of opportunity to experience the Anagada way of life by enjoying a rum cocktail along white sand beaches. In the evening a lobster BBQ dinner will be prepared for one of the most authentic Caribbean meals in all the islands.
JOST VAN DYKE
Departing Anegada westward for our longest sail yet, we will enjoy a beautiful sail along Tortola’s north coast. Arriving in Jost Van Dyke by the afternoon, we will pickup mooring in Great Harbor and enjoy an authentic West Indies experience. In the evening we dine out at our very own Vanita's some of the best local foods in all the islands. The famous Foxy’s Bar has live music and claimed to have the best traditional BVI rum drink, the Painkiller. At roughly 8 square kilometers, and about 3 square miles Jost Van Dyke is the smallest of the four main islands of the British Virgin Islands, the northern portion of the archipelago of the Virgin Islands, located in the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. Jost Van Dyke lies about 8 km to the northwest of Tortola and 8 km to the north of Saint John. Little Jost Van Dyke lies off its eastern end.
Cooper Island Beach Club is set on the pristine shores of Manchioneel Bay, on the northwest corner of the island. The beautiful surroundings, white sandy beaches and turquoise waters are perfect for relaxing, swimming and snorkeling. Relax on our unspoiled island and make friends with the local wildlife. Golden sands, palm trees and turquoise waters. Discover some of the best dive and snorkeling sites in the world: Our beach is renowned for amazing snorkeling and at its southern-most tip, Blue Tang, Queen Angelfish and schools of Sergeant Majors congregate at ‘Cistern Point’.
Space more akin to that of a 40-foot yacht and a sporty but safe sailing performance that you would expect from a modern racing yacht – this description is merely part of the 38' cruiser's features. The whole truth is that she is an extremely fast cruising yacht with exceptionally large space below deck.
